AMETHYST

Amethyst is purple Quartz. It gets it name from the ancient Greek words “Not” and “Intoxicate” as it was believed to prevent drunkenness. Amethyst was often the most valuable and desirable gemstones. Purple is the royal color and the color of the clergy. To this day clothes worn by clergy, judges and graduation gowns are the color of Amethyst. The 1641 British coronation crown has an Amethyst as its centerpiece surrounded by what today would be considered more valuable crystals. Two hundred years ago Amethyst was found in Eastern Europe in large quantities and since it was now cheap and available to the masses even poor people it stopped being the most desirable gemstone.Today Amethyst is found in many locations and most of ours comes from Brazil or Madagascar and we have a lot of desirable amethyst in our shop for you to enjoy.

New age users believe that Amethyst offers physical benefits such as reducing tension and improving sleep, mental benefits including stress relief and enhanced focus. It also has spiritual benefits like promoting a connection to higher energies and protection from negative influences. It is known for its calming properties, associated with the crown and third eye chakras, and is often used in meditation to foster inner peace and spiritual awareness.
